The textile supply chain is more complicated than you would imagine – take our example of the Altis Women Softshell Jacke (bluesign® product) in black, which illustrates the teamwork involved. Twelve main suppliers work alongside another 54 subcontractors, in order to create an outstanding Jack Wolfskin product at the end of the supply chain. But it’s not just important to us to know who is involved in our supply chain, but to ensure sustainable production processes. That is the reason why over 50% of the suppliers are bluesign® system partners, enabling us to ensure that the textiles and raw materials have been sourced responsibly.

And how can Jack Wolfskin ensure clean production?

And how can Jack Wolfskin ensure clean production?

The bluesign® system incorporates all suppliers in the supply chain – starting with the chemicals involved and ending with the finished product. The “Input Stream Management“ excludes substances that are harmful to the environment and health from the manufacturing process right from the very beginning. All steps in the manufacturing process are checked extensively, in order to guarantee that the production is safe, environmentally friendly, and taking into account careful use of resources and ultimate consumer protection requirements.
Jack Wolfskin has set itself the goal of obtaining all fabrics used and 75% of the components required (e.g. buttons, zips, cords etc.) frombluesign®-certified manufacturers from 2020 onwards. This means that we ensurean clean and safe production at all stages in the supply chain.
